Stock Management on the Move...

BlipIT Barcoding has been designed and developed to work with Access accounting packages to provide a mobile Stock Management solution for small and medium sized enterprises.

By offering full integration with Access accounting products, it is now possible to have full mobile accessibility for handling stock control. BlipIT offers the ability to book goods in, order picking, despatch and of course, Stock Takes. All of this can be done using hand-held PDA units (as example shown).

• Symbol® hand-held PDA’s running a Microsoft Windows CE® operating system are used for mobility and reliability.

• Sales orders to be despatched can be identified and picked using the hand-held unit. Multiple orders can be picked in the same pass around a warehouse, with the picking of stock sorted by location and bin order.

• Stock received can be scanned and compared against expected deliveries.

• A rolling stock take can be performed for a range of stock locations / bins.

• Ad-hoc stock adjustments can be performed to correct stock quantities, or to move stock between locations.

The hand-held device communicates through a RS232 Serial/USB connection to a workstation that runs the BlipIT Bridge program. The BlipIT Bridge program controls what data is downloaded to the hand-held unit and provides utilities for the configuration of users and security for the hand-held unit.  Note: BlipIT Wireless will be coming soon!!!

Stock movements are reported during the uploading process through the Bridge program. With the implementation of the Access Accounts Transaction Broker product, these stock movements can then be imported directly into the stock control tables of the Access Accounts software.

For those wishing to use a standard desktop computer with a keyboard scanner, BlipIT has a desktop licence available.
