Soft-Works (UK) Limited leads the way with new CIS Solution

Soft-Works (UK) Limited, has won recognition as the first authorised Access Accounts dealership to actively promote awareness of the new Construction Industry Scheme rules that have taken effect this April.

Darren Clifton-Jones, managing director of Soft-Works (UK) Limited, was awarded the accolade at the recent annual Access Accounting sales conference, attended by more than 170 people from dealerships worldwide. Soft-Works (UK) Limited is the first Access Accounts dealership in the UK to receive pre-orders for the new Access CIS system due for release later this month.

Tony Barrow, sales director of Access Accounting, commented, “Darren and his team have been very proactive in their efforts to promote CIS, increasing businesses knowledge and understanding of the rules and the implications for non-compliance. They have worked tirelessly to encourage contractors to be ready for the changes.”

As part of the CIS campaign, Soft-Works recently held a free seminar at its office in Roborough, Plymouth. Attendees were informed about the changes to CIS legislation and how failure to comply could result in fines of up to £3,000 per month!

A representative from HM Revenue & Customs provided details of the new rules and this was followed by a presentation of the new CIS software solution from Access Accounting. This system will handle the requirements of the forthcoming CIS scheme and has been designed to allow companies to manage the tax liability of sub-contractors with ease.
